Online Safety

Online safety is a really important part of our ICT curriculum.  We work in partnership with parents to ensure that children remain safe online whilst in school and at home.

 

The internet and use of smart phones can be a scary place for parents with young children and we are here to help support you through this process, so that your child remains safe and you are aware of their online activity.

 

Please see below for how we teach children to be safe with apps and the internet in school.  Please use the links to help you to navigate the world of parent controls and expectations.

Our Curriculum

We use a range of stories to support the children to understand the importance of asking for help if children see something they do not like.

  • Hector the Protector Hector is a dolphin who teaches children to click on him if they see something they do not like on the schoold esktop. Hector covers the screen and tells the child to find an adult.
  • Smartie the Penguin Smartie helps children to think about decisions they should make when using his brand new tablet that he receives for his birthday
  • Digi Duck Digi Duck teaches children how to stay safe on the internet and develops the idea of are people on the internet who you 'friend' really your friends.
