Health and Medicine

We know how tough it can be deciding whether to send your child to nursery when they're ill. Just remember, if they have a cold, e.g. runny nose, cough, sneezes, they are perfectly fine to be here. Any problems and our staff will contact you. Please see below a list of useful information from the NHS to help you know when to keep your child at home. Always seek medical advice if you are unsure. It is also important when your child is prescribed antibiotics, they must stay at home for the first 24 hours, in case of an allergic reaction, unless they have had the antibiotic before.

If your child is unwell or has an accident always seek medical advice.

Boots can help with a variety of health checks, vaccinations and eye tests (online or in store)

Pharmacists are experts in medicine and can often give advice, especially if you are unsure and unable to get an appointment at GP.

GP-General Practitioners provide health services to people who feel sick. They can refer to primary care physicians who provide the initial diagnosis for patients and then refer them to a specialist if needed.

NHS Direct 111 will direct you to the best place to get help for your symptoms and can sometimes arrange an appointment with the GP.

999 or 112 can both be used in Emergencies only.
