Reports to Governors
What have we been working on, linked to our Mathematics Curriculum?
2024-2025
Targets from School Development Plan:
To promote counting like behaviour in everyday opportunities, including through fun filled, interactive songs, books and activities, including:
- To review the opportunities that are already available for counting like behaviour
- To research different elements that could be explored to heighten the priority
- To develop and enhance the opportunities we have to give counting opportunities
Progress towards targets:
- The Mathematic subject leader from last year, and this will be handed over to the Deputy Headteacher in January to be the subject leader.
- In the interim, the Headteacher has carried informal walk around the school, where it is evident that counting opportunities take place, at every opportunity; something that was highlighted by the Mathematics deep dive during our most recent OFSTED visit.
- The mathematics lead is now back from maternity leave. She has reviewed the SDP plan and carried out some learning walks.
- The Maths lead has also reviewed the LTP, MTP and intent documentation to familiarise with the curriculum that she is monitoring.
- The mathematics lead has carried out data analysis of the autumn term data and observed children who are not on track, to explore the resources and opportunities that are on offer for children, throughout the day, particularly linked to number.
- The Mathematics lead (DHT) has met with the Headteacher to discuss the monitoring activities that have taken place this year, including successes and gaps in provision.
- The mathematics lead has planned mathematics adult led observations to gain information around the use of vocabulary in mathematics.
- An initial action plan has been developed to include outcomes from findings of child’s voice, parental views, assessment data, planning reviews and learning walks.
