At Hart Hill Nursery School, we are committed to promoting sustainability and helping children develop an understanding of how their actions impact the world around them.  We are developing our sustainability practices into everyday routines, learning experiences and whole school culture, in line with Early Years Foundation Stage principles and the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy.

Through our everyday practice, we would like to ensure:

• Children are supported to respect and care for their environment
• Staff model sustainable practices through everyday routines
• Sustainability becomes embedded, over time, into play, learning and home-school relationships
• All stakeholders begin to reduce our carbon footprint, save energy and make environmental – friendly choices
• All stakeholders recognise the role of our children and their role in the environment’s future
