From September 2026, Children will join our 2-year-old room, the day after their 2nd birthday.  Children within this classroom are under a number of funding streams, including:

• 0-2-year-old working funding
• 2-year-old working funding, the term after their second birthday
• 2-year-old disadvantaged funding, the term after their second birthday
• Privately paying, if a family is not yet entitled to any funding support (£8 per hour)

The classroom is carefully planned to build on the learning from the 0-2-year-old room, and to help prepare children for the 3-year-old room, where they will move to the day after their 3rd birthday.  The staff in this room work hard to:

• Support the transition from the 0-2-year-old room, or home, understanding that this may be the first time children leave their parents
• Develop positive and caring relationships, with both parents and children, so that a trusted bond grows and so we know your child's routine well and can help them to feel at home in our school
• Promote independence, by supporting and modelling how to do tasks, and letting them have a go, as they develop
• Help children to follow simple instructions, linked to routine, that are supported by visual cue for understanding
• Develop attention, so that children can engage in self-chosen activities for longer periods, allowing staff to join play and engage at times
