From September 2026, Children will join our 3-year-old room, the day after their 3rd birthday.  Children within this classroom are under a number of funding streams, including:

• 2-year-old working funding, until the term after their third birthday
• 2-year-old disadvantaged funding, until the term after their third birthday
• 3-year-old universal funding, the term after their third birthday
• Privately paying, if a family is not yet entitled to any funding support (£8 per hour)

The classroom is carefully planned to build on the learning from the 2-year-old room, and to help prepare children for the 3–4- year-old room, where they will move to the following September.  The staff in this room work hard to:

• Support the transition from the 2-year-old room, or home, understanding that this may be the first time children leave their parents
• Develop positive and caring relationships, with both parents and children, so that a trusted bond grows
• Promote independence, but understand that most tasks will need to be completed with some help and guidance
• Build on the ability to follow simple instructions linked to routine
• Develop attention, so that children can sit in a small group for singing and a quick story
