0-2 year old provision
From September 2026, children will join our 0-2-year-old room, from the age of 9 months. Children within this classroom are either funded through the 0–2-year-old working parent entitlement, or through privately paying, if the family are not yet entitled to any funding support (£10 per hour).
The classroom is carefully planned to build on the experiences that children have had in their home, with their family. The staff in this room work hard to:
- Understand the family makeup for each child and promote this within the setting
- Support the transition from home, understanding that this may be the first time children leave their parents
- Develop positive and caring relationships, with both parents and children, so that a trusted bond grows and we know your child's routine well and can help them to feel at home in our school
- Learn where each child is starting from, to support clear development that is individualised
- Promote communication for all, through age-appropriate learning, including eye gaze, body gesture and speech
- Help children to explore and play with age-appropriate resources, in a fun and exciting way, introducing new experiences, as they develop
- Develop attention and social interaction, so that children learn to be around other children and allow them in their space safely
