School Meals

Lunch Time at Hart Hill Nursery School

Lunch time starts at 12pm.  The children eat in their main classroom, to enable them to feel safe and be happy in a known environment.  Midday Supervisors support the children to be as independent as they can be, including helping to teach them to cut up their own food, feed themselves with the correct cutlery and discuss their day so far.  We try our best to make this time as homely and sociable as possible.

Children who stay for lunch are offered to bring in a packed lunch or the school will provide a hot meal, via the schools meals service, priced at £2.50 day.  This is payable on the Parentmail App.

Free School Meals

Do you qualify for free school meals?

Parents and Guardians must be in receipt of one of the following benefits to qualify for Free School Meals:

  • Income Support
  • Jobseekers Allowance – Income Based
  • Employment and Support Allowance – Income Related
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Pension Credit – Guaranteed Element
  • Universal Credit and have a joint earned annual net income below £7,400
  • Child Tax Credit and have a joint earned annual gross income below £16,190

Claimants in receipt of Working Tax Credit are not eligible for Free School Meals unless these payments are due to end after a four week run on period, usually after becoming unemployed or reducing the number of hours worked.

Only the benefits named above qualify for Free School Meals.

Children aged three and above must attend the session before and after lunch to qualify for Free School Meals.
