Curriculum

‘Development is a continous process which is influenced by many factors.’ Birth to Five Matters 2021

At Hart Hill Nursery School, our curriculum is built using a number of different schemes and various support guidance from across the sector, as well as well founded research of child’s early education.

We focus on the seven areas of the early years curriculum:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

In addition, our bespoke curriculum has a high emphasis on:

  • Library and early reading skills, including Phonics
  • Cooking and tasting, through a farm to fork approach
  • Developing physical skills to be ready for early writing, through finger gym activities and PE
  • Emotional wellbeing, through the use of Zones of Regulation, Yoga and Jigsaw
